Expression of Interest: Academic Development Working Group Members

The CAPHIA Board of Director is calling for members for the Academic Development Working Group.

CAPHIA is seeking members for the Academic Development Working Group chaired by Professor Aziz Rahman. This group progresses the Professional Development strategic pillar of CAPHIA’s 2021-2024 Strategic Plan, by promoting academic development, through coordination of the CAPHIA awards, and webinar/workshop series.

Working Group Responsibilities

The main tasks for the group for the next 18-24 months are:

  1. CAPHIA Awards (immediate priority) including confirming award categories and rubric and assessing applications.

CAPHIA Award for Teaching Innovation (Team)

The CAPHIA Teaching Innovation Award recognises creative and unique methodologies that generate impacts from the perspective of significant stakeholders in public health, especially in developing and implementing innovations that impact teaching, learning and assessment or supporting student learning.

The award for Teaching Innovation (Team) was presented to the University of Queensland. The UQ team implemented a nested assessment structure as a framework to deepen reflexive insight and self-evaluation among students.

The CAPHIA Teaching Excellence Award recognises and rewards the contribution of CAPHIA members to quality teaching and learning and inspiring student learning in public health.

The Teaching Excellence Award was presented to the University of Queensland Bachelor of Health Sciences’ first-year Course Coordinator team, who led the co/redesign of a first year experience using a cross-disciplinary approach across the School of Public Health and the School of Biomedical Sciences.

This is Public Health Grants Program applications now open

This Is Public Health (TIPH) Grant Program
Applications Close 3:59 pm Saturday 10 December AEDT

This one-year grant program will provide twenty (20) awards of up to US $5,000 to academic public health institutions to develop TIPH Global campaigns that increase the visibility of public health in a region outside of the United States.

Academic public health institutions of the Global Network for Public Health are invited to submit applications the second cohort of the TIPH Global Grant Program.
