Expression of Interest: Guest Contributor - Early Career Academics Blog & "Catch Up Cafe" 28th April
The 2025 CAPHIA (Council of Academic Public Health Institutions Australasia) Early Career Academics Committee is excited to announce the continuation of our monthly virtual “Catch Up Cafe.” Building on the success of our informal gatherings in 2024, we are evolving this initiative to provide more structured learning and networking opportunities for early career public health academics and professionals.
This year, each “Catch Up Cafe” will feature a specific theme, and we are inviting experienced public health professionals to share their expertise and experiences as guest contributors. In alignment with Global Public Health Week (April 7-11, 2025), our session will be held on the April 28, 12pm – 1pm AEST focusing on “Redefining Equity: Decolonizing Public Health for a Healthier World.”
This theme will centre discussions on:
- Decolonizing public health practices to address historical and systemic inequities.
- Promoting health equity by recognizing diverse cultural and social contexts.
- Reimagining global health strategies to build a fairer, healthier future.
We aim to foster discussions that underscore the importance of inclusivity and fairness in public health systems worldwide.
