Competencies Renewal Project
Developing the knowledge, skills and attributes to educate the public health workforce
Project Update July 2024
We are pleased to announce that initial ethics approval has been received from the James Cook University Ethics Committee for the Competencies Renewal Project. Several steering committee co-investigators have received approval at their respective institutions while others are in progress. In the meantime, the Steering Committee continues work on developing an engagement strategy which will inform data collection, and which ensures diverse representation from across the spectrum of public health in line with our commitment to a co-design approach. We are currently on track to commence Phase 1 (Semi-structured Interviews) by August-September and hope to have a preliminary set of competencies on paper (Phase 2) by the end of the year.
CAPHIA thanks the Steering Committee members and co-chairs Dr Nathan Dawes and Professor Melissa Graham for their ongoing contribution to this important program of work.
